Cityview: Bradford AP Academy Opens New Site

Exceed Academies Trust is proud to announce the opening of ‘Cityview’, a new alternative provision site operated by Bradford AP Academy expanding their support for pupils who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion.

Bradford AP Academy provides short-term placements and specialist interventions for pupils aged 11–16, with a multi-disciplinary taskforce including mental health, speech and language, youth justice, and neurodiversity experts. The Academy also works proactively in mainstream schools to prevent exclusions.

Located on the former District PRU site on Anerley Street, Cityview provides capacity for up to 32 pupils. The opening ceremony was led by Bradford City AFC Women’s player Monika Stube, who joined staff, pupils, and partners in celebrating the launch.

CEO Duncan Jacques CBE said:

“Cityview represents our values in action, equity, inclusion, and community impact. It will play a crucial role in supporting some of Bradford’s most vulnerable young people, ensuring they have the best possible chance to succeed in both education and life.”

Councillor Sue Duffy, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Children and Families, said:

“The opening of Cityview represents a significant increase in alternative provision capacity across Bradford district and will play a vital role in ensuring that vulnerable young people have access to an education programme and support that matches their individual needs and gives them the best opportunity to succeed. It offers headteachers, governors, parents and young people a chance to prevent permanent exclusions. Instead of waiting until a crisis point, schools can refer students early, ensuring the right support is provided at the right time.”
